EYOU RHU14L-52 harmonic joint module

The smallest RHU: a Φ52 module at 382 g with the option of built-in force control. On a finger drive or a small wrist that has to report contact, that is a combination the TCHL range cannot offer until two frames further up.

When this is the right choice

  • Force control at 382 g. The -F version puts ±0.5% FS sensing inside a Φ52 frame — useful on fingers and small wrists that have to detect contact.
  • Finger and small-wrist duty. 5.4 N·m at 100:1 is enough for a finger or a light gimbal.
  • Same family ladder as RHU40H-130, so a hand built here and a leg built there share a supplier and a specification vocabulary.
  • Two ratios, four published torque tiers. You can size on average load instead of a single peak number.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Anything structural. 19 N·m start–stop is a finger figure.
  • Where a brake is mandatory. The -F option is sensing; brake availability is confirmed per frame, so ask before you design around it.
  • Cost-driven grippers. A planetary joint is cheaper where backlash is not the constraint.

RHU14L-52 FAQ

Does -F mean force control on the RHU series?

Yes. Unlike the PHU series — where -F is an output flange — the RHU -F suffix denotes the force-control (torque-sensor) version. Name it explicitly in the enquiry so there is no ambiguity between the two families.

How far up the range does force control go?

RHU-F stops at RHU25L-80. RHU32H and RHU40H have no built-in sensor version, so those axes need an external sensor.

50:1 or 100:1?

50:1 for speed on a finger that has to close quickly; 100:1 for torque and a quieter hold. The peak goes from 12 to 19 N·m with the higher ratio.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation.
