When this is the right choice
- The smallest frame with force feedback. -TH2 puts a torque sensor in a Φ65 body — the cheapest route to a force-sensed wrist in this range.
- Wrist pitch and roll on a mid-size arm. 6.5 N·m continuous carries a 2–3 kg end effector with margin.
- Braked and sensed in one part number. -B05-TH2 gives you both at about 0.65 kg, still inside the same bolt pattern.
- Φ10 mm bore for the harness of a hand or a camera.
When it is the wrong choice
- Elbows of anything heavier than a forearm. 24 N·m start–stop is the limit; TCHL-17 doubles it for 0.5 kg more.
- High-cycle industrial grippers. A linkage or planetary unit is cheaper and tougher where accuracy is not the constraint.
- Ankle joints on a walking robot. Impact loads are the wrong diet for a flexspline this small.

TCHL-14 FAQ
Does the torque sensor change the envelope?
Both -TH2 and -B05-TH2 stay inside the same Φ65 mounting interface; what changes is axial length and about 0.1–0.2 kg. We confirm the exact figure on the drawing issued with the quotation.
What does the sensor actually measure?
Output torque on the joint, not motor current. That distinction matters at low speed and under gravity load, where current-based estimates drift with temperature.
Which ratio for a wrist?
81:1 is the usual default; 51:1 if the wrist has to move fast, 101:1 if it has to hold a load quietly. Tell us the cycle and we will size it.
How long does it take to ship?
Confirmed per order at quotation; -TH2 configurations are built, not stocked, so name the variant early.
