When this is the right choice
- Wrist-sized with real torque. 27 N·m average output at half a kilogram.
- Force control available at a frame most people expect to be sensor-less.
- 71 N·m instantaneous gives headroom for the peak of a fast wrist move.
- Same motor family as the rest of RHU — spare parts and firmware tooling carry across the build.
When it is the wrong choice
- Elbows carrying a heavy forearm. 37 N·m start–stop is the ceiling; RHU20L or TCHL-17 double it.
- Vertical axes that must not drop unless you confirm the brake option for this frame first.
- High-cycle industrial use. A cheaper planetary frame with more backlash will outlast it.
Alternatives at a similar level
- EYOU RHU20L-70 — 28–57 N·m at 811 g — one frame up
- EYOU RHU14L-52 — 5.4–19 N·m at 382 g for fingers and small wrists
- Tongchuan TCHL-17 — 29 N·m at 0.93 kg, EtherCAT / CAN-FD
- Crabnova CE-RBV3-R58-101 — 20–45 N·m with brake and 70 N·m sensor, 0.495 kg

RHU17L-60 FAQ
Is 521 g light enough for a humanoid forearm?
Yes for a forearm pitch or roll on a mid-size platform. If the wrist carries a 1 kg hand, check the combined inertia before choosing the 50:1 ratio.
Can I get it with a brake and force control together?
The -F denotes force control; brake availability is a separate option confirmed per frame. Tell us the axis and we will confirm which combination the factory builds.
What is the difference from PHU17H-80?
PHU is the general-purpose PHU series with a different envelope and -F meaning a flange; RHU is the humanoid series with the large bore and the force-control suffix. Do not mix the two suffixes.
How long does it take to ship?
Confirmed per order at quotation.
