Linker Arm P7 seven-DOF arm

The lighter, tougher A7: 5.6 kg, 608 mm radius, 3 kg payload and a published ±0.043 mm repeatability, on planetary joints instead of harmonic. 258 W peak instead of 500.

When this is the right choice

  • ±0.043 mm published repeatability. The A7 does not quote one — if the task needs a number, this arm has it.
  • Planetary joints take shock better than harmonic. An arm that gets bumped, taught by hand or run into a fixture will survive longer on planetary axes.
  • 300 g lighter than the A7 and half the peak power, so a 48 V rail goes further across a multi-arm cell.
  • Same Linker Hand mount and the same SDK as the rest of the ecosystem.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Planetary backlash. ±0.043 mm repeatability is good, but absolute accuracy and stiffness are below a harmonic arm — for force-controlled contact work the H75 or an HRV1 force-control arm is the better base.
  • 258 W peak limits acceleration with a heavy end effector; a 1 kg hand plus a camera is close to the practical ceiling for fast moves.
  • 3 kg payload at 608 mm — same caveat as the A7: rated, not at full extension.

Linker Arm P7 FAQ

Why does the P7 quote repeatability and the A7 not?

Different positioning: the P7 is sold into measurement-adjacent tasks where the number is part of the specification, the A7 into manipulation where it is not. Ask us and we will get the figure from the factory for either arm.

Planetary joints in an arm — is that a downgrade?

For repeatability at low load, no. For stiffness, absolute accuracy and force control, yes. That is why the same vendor sells a harmonic arm (H75) alongside it.

How long does it take to ship?

Assembled to order; the quotation carries the date for the exact configuration.
