When this is the right choice
- One vendor for arm and hand. Same CAN stack, same SDK, same spare-parts list — the hand enumerates on the arm bus without a protocol bridge.
- 3 kg payload on a 5.9 kg arm. A Linker Hand is 600–1,000 g, so there is real margin for a camera or a gripper at the wrist.
- 7 DOF, so the wrist can hold orientation while the shoulder and elbow reach — six axes always force a compromise in cluttered space.
- 48 V and 500 W peak matches a humanoid bus rather than a 24 V bench supply.
When it is the wrong choice
- 600 mm is short. For a table-top cell that is fine; for a mobile manipulator working at floor level it is not, and the 15 kg HRV1 at 950 mm reach is the other answer.
- No published repeatability figure for the A7 — the P7 and H75 both quote one, so if precision is the selection criterion, ask us before defaulting to the A7.
- Payload is rated, not verified at full extension. 3 kg at 600 mm and 3 kg at 300 mm are different robots; size the wrist torque accordingly.
Alternatives at a similar level
- Linker Arm P7 — 5.6 kg, 608 mm, ±0.043 mm repeatability, planetary joints
- Linker Arm H75 — 8.25 kg, 5 kg payload, ±0.027 mm — the precision arm
- Crabnova HRV1 3 kg force-control — 892 mm reach with torque sensors and brakes on every axis

Linker Arm A7 FAQ
Does a Linker Hand bolt straight onto the A7?
Yes — that is the design intent. The wrist flange uses the Linker Hand bolt pattern and the hand runs on the arm bus, so there is no adapter and no second controller.
A7 or P7?
A7 if the arm only has to position a hand and you want the simplest integration. P7 if you need a published repeatability figure (±0.043 mm) and planetary joints that take more abuse. H75 if you need 5 kg and ±0.027 mm.
How long does it take to ship?
Arms are assembled to order; the date depends on the configuration and the hand it ships with. The quotation carries the ship date we are working to.
