DAMIAO DM-J4340 planetary joint motor

The same Φ57 body as the DM-J4310 with a 40:1 stage instead of 10:1: 12 N·m rated and 40 N·m peak at 362 g. If you already designed around DM-J4310’s envelope and need three times the torque, this is a part-number change rather than a redesign.

When this is the right choice

  • Three times the torque of DM-J4310 in the same Φ57 envelope. 40 N·m peak at 362 g is the highest density in the DM-J range.
  • Peak-to-rated ratio of 3.3× leaves room for the acceleration peak without oversizing the motor.
  • Drop-in for existing DM-J4310 mounting — same diameter, different length and ratio.
  • Absolute position on the output side, no homing sequence.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Axes that must hold at power-off. No brake anywhere in the series.
  • Contact-rich tasks needing measured torque. No sensor; current-loop control is not a measurement.
  • Speed-critical high-ratio work. 40:1 costs output speed against the 10:1 DM-J4310.

DM-J4340 FAQ

9 N·m or 12 N·m version?

The V1.1 winding raises rated torque to 12 N·m and peak to 40 N·m at the same mass. Unless you are matching an existing build, take V1.1.

What does the P suffix change?

A different output interface and 19 mm more length (56.5 vs 53.3 mm). Torque is the same as the equivalent non-P version.

Can it replace a DM-J4310 without changing brackets?

Same Φ57 diameter, longer body. Check the axial space before you commit — that is the only obstacle in most builds.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation.
