Linker Hand L20 dexterous hand

The high-DOF data hand: 16 active joints plus 5 passive, a 100 N five-finger grip and close to twenty self-developed joint modules inside one 1.2 kg hand. The model most demonstration-dataset projects standardise on, because it closes the gap between a work hand and a human hand.

When this is the right choice

  • 100 N five-finger grip. The strongest grip in the range, with 20 N at the four fingertips for a real pinch.
  • 21 joints in total — enough articulation to reproduce a human grasp rather than approximate it.
  • Built for data. Impact-resistant linkage and a 200°/s bend speed make it viable for high-intensity demonstration capture.
  • 24–48 V and CAN / RS-485 — either a 24 V cell or a 48 V bus works.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Wrist payload budget. 1.2 kg at the flange is a serious number for a 5 kg cobot arm.
  • No tactile array. Fingertip forces are rated; for contact-rich data the L30 Pro carries an array.
  • Simple pick-and-place. An O6 does the same job at a third of the mass and a fraction of the complexity.

Linker Hand L20 FAQ

L20 or L20 Lite?

L20 is 16 active + 5 passive at 1.2 kg with a 100 N grip; L20 Lite is 10 active + 10 passive at 800 g with 80 N. Lite for teaching and enveloping grasps, L20 when the dataset needs full articulation.

Why does a 1.2 kg hand matter for a dataset?

Because the arm accelerates that mass on every episode. A hand that articulates better can still lose if the arm is the bottleneck — check both against the arm’s rated payload.

Is the linkage repairable?

Yes — bolted linkages and joint modules rather than a sealed tendon path. Replacing a finger module is a maintenance task, not a factory return.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation.
