EYOU RP70H planetary joint module

17 N·m rated and 60 N·m peak in 760 g — the strongest frame before the line jumps to Φ96.5. This is the planetary that shows up on quadrupeds and on mobile bases with a real payload.

When this is the right choice

  • 60 N·m peak. For a leg or a wheel that has to survive landing and kerb impacts, the peak-to-rated ratio of 3.5 is the number that keeps gears alive.
  • 223 W continuous in 760 g — high enough to run a quadruped trot without thermal derating.
  • Same Φ77 mount as RP70L, so a design can move from 12 to 17 N·m on the same bracket.
  • 48 V and CANopen with a Φ6 bore for the harness.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Backlash, again. A quadruped joint with 12 arcmin of reverse play needs a good controller to hide it — this is not a position-holding joint.
  • No brake and no torque sensor in the RP series; for a knee that must hold, a harmonic frame with a brake is the safer choice.
  • RP90L is 315 g more for twice the torque — if you are already at 760 g, check whether the bigger frame is the real answer.

RP70H FAQ

Planetary or harmonic for a quadruped leg?

Planetary wins on peak torque, cost and impact tolerance; harmonic wins on backlash and holding. Most quadrupeds use planetary on the knee and harmonic or quasi-direct-drive on the hip. Tell us the axis and we will say which side of that line you are on.

Can it take 60 N·m repeatedly?

The 60 N·m figure is a peak, not a continuous rating — it is for short events. Continuous is 17 N·m at 125 rpm; beyond that the winding temperature sets the duty cycle.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation, with the catalogue numbers re-confirmed for this series at the same time.
