When this is the right choice
- 6.6 N·m in 390 g is a strong torque-to-mass ratio for a planetary at this diameter — better than any RP frame at the same mass.
- Peak is only 1.5× rated, which is honest: the catalogue is not overselling the shock capability, so design to 6.6.
- Same CAN stack as the rest of PP and RP — one controller for a whole prototype arm.
When it is the wrong choice
- 50 rpm rated output. At 36:1 that is a slow joint; a wrist that has to reorient in 0.3 s will not manage it.
- 1.5× peak margin is thin. Compare PP11L, which reaches 18 N·m peak from the same diameter.
- Backlash and no brake, as with every planetary in the line.

PP11 FAQ
Why is the rated speed only 50 rpm?
The PP series is built for slow, high-reduction movement — 36:1 from a small motor. If you need output speed above about 50 rpm continuous, the RP series is the right family.
PP11 or PP11L?
PP11L is 131 g heavier and gives 10 N·m rated with an 18 N·m peak — nearly double the shock margin. If the axis can be hit, take the L.
How long does it take to ship?
Confirmed per order at quotation; PP figures are approximate in the catalogue.
