When this is the right choice
- Shoulder pitch and waist yaw on a 40–60 kg platform. 120 N·m peak with a brake that holds the axis at power-off.
- 200 N·m sensor — the first frame in the series where a real collision shows up as a number rather than a current spike.
- Φ12 mm bore carries a shoulder harness plus a sensor lead.
- Only 1.6 kg for a joint that reaches torso duty — 0.4 kg more than a 33 N·m R68 for 60% more torque.
When it is the wrong choice
- Full-size humanoid hip or knee. 53 N·m is not enough once the whole body mass is in the load case.
- Very light arms. The mass penalty over R68 is real on a 3 kg payload arm.
- Ankle and foot axes. Wrong drive type for impact loading.
Alternatives at a similar level

- Crabnova CE-RBV3-R68-101 — 33 N·m at 1.15 kg for lighter shoulders
- Tongchuan TCHL-25 — 83 N·m at 1.85 kg, brake and sensor optional
- EYOU RHU32H-120 — 124–169 N·m in a Φ120 frame at 4.08 kg

CE-RBV3-R83-101 FAQ
R83 or R102?
R83 for shoulder and waist on a compact platform; R102 once the axis has to survive a fall or carry the whole upper body — it is 147 N·m and one kilogram heavier.
Can I use it as a knee?
On a light platform, yes. On a full-size humanoid the knee sees both body mass and ground impact; that is where the R120 and R120-MAX frames sit.
Is the brake strong enough to hold a raised arm?
It holds the rated static load at the joint, and the joint is rated 53 N·m continuous. Work out the gravity torque at the joint for your worst arm pose and compare — we will do that calculation with you.
How long does it take to ship?
Confirmed per order at quotation.
