EYOU RHU32H-120 harmonic joint module

The first leg-sized frame in the RHU range: 124 N·m continuous at 120:1, 169 N·m at 160:1, 4.08 kg in a Φ120 shell. It is also the frame where EYOU stops offering a built-in torque sensor — plan the external sensor into the design.

When this is the right choice

  • Knee and hip pitch on a 50–70 kg platform. 169 N·m rated at 160:1 in a Φ120 frame.
  • 848 N·m instantaneous ceiling gives a leg axis headroom for landing and for the first instant of an unexpected contact.
  • Half a kilogram lighter per axis than RHU40H — matters when there are two legs.
  • Same family, same drawings as the smaller RHU frames, so the design vocabulary carries over.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Force-controlled knees. No built-in sensor at this frame — you need an external sensor plus the bracket and the calibration that goes with it.
  • Arms. 4.08 kg is leg mass, not arm mass.
  • Ankles. Harmonic drive in an impact path; consider a cycloidal or planetary frame instead.

RHU32H-120 FAQ

120:1 or 160:1 for a knee?

A knee wants the higher ratio: 160:1 gives 169 N·m rated and 459 N·m start–stop against 124 and 270. The instantaneous ceiling is the same 848 N·m either way.

How do I get torque feedback on this axis?

Externally. RHU-F stops at RHU25L-80, so a force-controlled knee here means an in-line torque sensor plus a bracket, and we spec both together with the module.

Is it a cup or hat flexspline?

EYOU confirmed cup type for the 40-size frame; for RHU32H we confirm per order rather than assume the same answer.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation — this frame is built to order more often than the small ones.
