Linker TA teleoperation arm (LTA1)

A glove captures the hand; the TA captures the arm. Fourteen DOF mounted on the operator’s chest, 658 mm of span, 1.4 kg, sampled at 200 Hz over CAN — so a demonstration records where the wrist and elbow were, not just how the fingers closed.

When this is the right choice

  • Whole-arm pose, not just hands. Wrist and elbow positions are what most manipulation policies need, and a glove cannot give them.
  • 200 Hz over CAN. Faster than human arm bandwidth, on a bus any robot controller already speaks.
  • Absolute encoders — no homing ritual before a session, and no drift within one.
  • 1.4 kg on the chest is light enough to wear for a full capture shift.

When it is the wrong choice

  • Force feedback. The TA captures; operator-side force comes from an FFG glove, not from this arm.
  • Portable capture. A chest-mounted rig tethered to power and CAN is not a backpack field kit.
  • Single-arm tasks only. One arm per unit; a bimanual rig is two units plus harness design.

Linker TA (LTA1) FAQ

Do I need the TA if I only care about hand pose?

No. A glove alone records finger motion. The TA earns its place when the policy needs wrist and elbow trajectories — which is most pick-and-place and most tool-use data.

How does it pair with a glove?

Separate devices on the same ecosystem: the glove mounts on the hand at the end of the TA and both stream into the same recording. The FFG can even take its 5 V from the arm.

What does 200 Hz sampling mean for data quality?

It is above the bandwidth of human arm motion, so nothing is aliased out. The limit on data quality is the follower and the calibration, not the leader.

How long does it take to ship?

Confirmed per order at quotation.
