When this is the right choice
- 50 N·m rated for a quoted 628 g. That is a torque-to-mass ratio no harmonic frame we list beats at this size — EYOU PHU20H-90 needs 1,582 g for the same 50 N·m.
- 102 N·m peak. Enough to take the load event that would otherwise strip a gear set.
- Φ90 × 73 — only 73 mm long, which is very short for this torque class.
- CAN FD plus dual encoder, and the same SDK as the rest of DM-J and DM-JH.
When it is the wrong choice
- The 628 g figure needs checking. It is published against the 101:1 variant only, and a 50 N·m harmonic at 628 g would be exceptional — we confirm the weight of the exact build before quoting, and you should too before fixing a mass budget.
- No brake. On a waist that is close to disqualifying: a power-off waist will sag under gravity, and the fix is a separate brake, not a firmware setting.
- 20 rpm at 101:1 is slow for a torso yaw that has to track a turning gait.

DM-JH20 FAQ
Is the 628 g weight real?
That is what the catalogue quotes for the 101:1 variant, and it is low enough for 50 N·m that we treat it as approximate until the factory confirms the exact build. If mass is critical, ask for the drawing weight before you commit.
Would you use it on a waist?
With a brake bolted on, yes — the torque is right and the price is far below a robot-grade actuator. Without one, no: a waist that sags when the drive is disabled is a safety issue, not an inconvenience.
How long does it take to ship?
Confirmed per order at quotation. The 51:1 variant is the one to ask about specifically, since its weight and availability are less documented than the 101:1.
