Linker Hand O6 dexterous hand

Six active joints and five passive ones, 360 odd grams and a 50 kg grip: the O6 is the hand you buy when the job is holding things, not feeling them. Aerospace-grade aluminium, a linkage drivetrain that survives being knocked, and the same SDK and ROS stack as the rest of the Linker range.

Linker Hand O6 dexterous hand

When this is the right choice

  • Payload per gram. 50 kg of grip at roughly 360 g is the best ratio in the Linker range, and it is the reason the O6 exists.
  • Industrial pick-and-place where 6+5 is enough. Moving known parts from A to B does not need 20 DOF, and it does not need a tactile array.
  • Simulation before the parcel arrives. URDF for Isaac Gym, PyBullet and MuJoCo ships with the SDK, so the grasp plan is written before the hardware lands.
  • Individual finger control — you write the grasp, rather than choosing from canned gestures.

When it is the wrong choice

  • In-hand manipulation and demonstration data. Six active joints cannot re-orient an object inside the hand; that is O30 or L20/L30 Pro territory.
  • Contact-rich tasks that need to feel the object. The O6 is a work hand — no tactile array.
  • Cycle-speed-critical handling. Four-finger bend runs at 74.8°/s and the thumb at 38°/s — deliberate, not fast. High-rate pick cycles belong to the L6 (201°/s).

Linker Hand O6 FAQ

What is in the box?

The hand, assembled and calibrated; a USB-to-CAN debug cable; the power adapter; a power cord; and a USB-to-Type-C debug cable. The printed manual (20260721A5) is the authoritative list and it does not include an XT30 cable, even though an older revision of the website listed one.

Do I need to buy software or a driver separately?

No. The driver downloads from the manufacturer’s developer site, the SDK is open source with a Python interface, and ROS topics plus URDF come with it. There is an English documentation switch on the developer site.

Will it work on US power?

The hand itself does not care, but the included adapter ships with a Chinese-standard plug. A GB→US plug adapter is enough — it is a plug problem, not a voltage problem — and we can put one in the box.

Can each finger be controlled separately?

Yes. The O6 accepts per-finger commands, not just preset gestures.
